My Designer Life. A little play on words. I can do that since this is my blog.
My name is Audrey Konkel and I am first a wife. I have been with my husband, Ryan, for over 10 years, married 6 and happily continuing forward in our marriage. That’s more than I can say for a lot of people. Secondly, I am a Mama to my beautiful little boy, Harrison. He was born on my husband’s 28th Birthday, best… birthday… ever! He truly is my sunshine. Third, I am a budding Interior Designer. I graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design with a concentration in Marketing. I graduated with high hopes of joining a fabulous firm, making fabulous money, buying a fabulous wardrobe and car and walking around with my fabulous face held high, but that was violently squashed with the economy took a nose dive and design firms were going out of business every other day. So, I have gone to work for myself, marketing me, as a Residential Interior Designer, doing consultations, spacial planning, staging and personal shopper for hire. It’s slow business right now. Which brings me to my fourth role, Entrepreneur. Since I am primarily a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) I needed to supplement my income by trying to start my own business aside from doing interior consulting. This lead me to start Mommy’s Chic Boutique, my new online business on Etsy.com.
This blog is dedicated to my journey in being a wife, mother, interior designer and new entrepreneur. This is my “designer” life. And I only hope to grow in my success in all aspects of this life.
